Analysis: On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, North Carolina author and experiencer Chris Bledsoe says the sky will mark the start of a “major change in knowledge.” Here is what he has actually claimed, what the astronomy shows, how the Iran war and a strange light over Tehran fit in, and what remains unverified.

Who Is Chris Bledsoe?
Chris Bledsoe is a small business owner and churchgoer from rural North Carolina who has spent nearly two decades describing a series of encounters he links to UFOs, glowing orbs and a luminous woman he calls “the Lady.” According to the Anomaly Archives catalog entry for his book, the story begins on January 8, 2007, when Bledsoe, his teenage son and three co-workers were on the banks of the Cape Fear River and saw a UFO, followed by missing time and what he describes as a healing.
The strangeness, he says, followed him home. A tree in his backyard burst into flames. Brilliant “white beyond white” orbs began appearing in and around the house, and people who visited reported seeing the phenomena too. He tells the full story in his book, UFO of GOD, which carries a foreword by Jim Semivan, a former CIA senior intelligence officer who, according to Patheos columnist Tom Rapsas, investigated Bledsoe’s case for more than a decade.

The Lady and the Message About Regulus and the Sphinx
Bledsoe says that during one episode he was lifted from his bed by a bluish-white light and found himself in a canyon, where three beings led him to a woman seated on a stone throne in a dress so bright he could hardly look at it. He calls her “the Mother Spirit” and sees her as representing the spirit of God. In later retellings, he describes her appearing among the trees on his own property, floating, with long blonde hair. Researcher discussion on Metabunk notes he also uses the name Hathor for her, linking the figure to ancient Egyptian imagery.

The part that matters for October 7 is a message Bledsoe says he received in 2013. According to Patheos, the Lady told him that thousands of orbs would rise from the world’s oceans in 2026, at a time when Iran and Israel were bombing each other, and that they would appear to stop the conflict and wake humanity up. She tied the timing to a sky marker: the orbs would appear when “Regulus is turning red at the Sphinx’s gaze.”
Bledsoe says the phrase meant nothing to him at the time. Astrologers and others later interpreted it: Regulus is the brightest star in Leo, the Lion, a constellation long associated with the Sphinx, and the “gaze” would be the moment the star rises in the line of sight of the Great Sphinx, which faces east. Near the horizon, starlight passes through more atmosphere, which scatters blue light and can make a star look redder.
From Easter 2026 to October 7: What Happened to the First Date
Early in 2026, social media posts attached the prophecy to Easter Sunday, April 5. As Patheos reported, the “Easter 2026” date came from others, not from Bledsoe, who had only spoken of the fall. When the day came, the same columnist updated his story to say there were no verified reports of luminous orbs rising from the Persian Gulf, the Mediterranean, the Atlantic or the Pacific.
Skeptics had already questioned the Easter alignment. A Metabunk thread examined the claim using planetarium software. Our own check, below, agrees with that basic point: on April 5, Regulus is not rising in the east at dawn at all.
Researchers and astrologers then pointed to October 7, 2026 as the “real” date. In a follow-up published October 2, Patheos wrote that Bledsoe himself had said Easter was wrong and pointed to October 7, around 5:30 a.m. in Egypt.
What Chris Bledsoe Says Will Happen Now
The newer version of the prophecy is notably softer than the original. In recent interviews, Bledsoe has cautioned listeners not to fixate on the exact calendar day or to expect a Hollywood-style light show. He frames October 7 as the dawn of a spiritual paradigm shift: a gradual awakening rooted in forgotten ancient wisdom, with an influx of “new knowledge” and what he calls a divine feminine presence entering the world.
He has also claimed that Egyptian researchers are sitting on hidden chambers and artifacts near the Sphinx that will soon be revealed, and he has said he plans to be on the Giza Plateau on October 7 to watch the sky himself. Some followers read the “new knowledge” as a form of UFO disclosure. That interpretation is theirs, not a documented statement from any government.
Does the Sky Really Line Up? Our Astronomy Check
We ran the positions of Regulus and the Sun for the Giza Plateau (about 29.98 N, 31.14 E) with the PyEphem astronomy library. These are our own calculations, so please verify them with a planetarium program such as Stellarium.
- October 7, 2026: Regulus rises in the east-northeast at an azimuth of about 76 degrees, roughly 3:30 a.m. Egyptian local time. By 5:30 a.m., it stands almost exactly due east (azimuth about 90 degrees) and about 25 degrees above the horizon, in a dark sky, with the Sun still about 18 degrees below the horizon.
- April 5, 2026 (Easter): At 5:30 a.m., Regulus is far below the western horizon, which matches the Metabunk criticism of the Easter date.
In other words, October 7 is a far better fit than Easter for a star standing in the Sphinx’s line of sight, since the Sphinx faces due east. But the picture is not exactly “a red star on the horizon.” At 25 degrees up, Regulus is in its normal blue-white color, because horizon reddening is strongest within a few degrees of the ground. Whether a gaze that is “turning red” means the star at the horizon, or the alignment more loosely, is a matter of interpretation, and Bledsoe has not pinned it to a precise minute.

Iran, Israel and the Nuclear Question: The Backdrop of the Prophecy
The prophecy’s most striking feature is its link to a war between Iran and Israel. Bledsoe’s supporters point out that the 2013 message predates the current conflict by 13 years. Here is the verified backdrop, according to the Council on Foreign Relations Global Conflict Tracker:
- In June 2025, Israel launched strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites, and the United States struck Fordow, Isfahan and Natanz before a ceasefire was announced.
- On February 28, 2026, the United States and Israel attacked Iran, killing Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and targeting nuclear and military infrastructure. Iran retaliated against U.S. bases and Gulf states, and effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz.
- A Pakistan-mediated ceasefire in April and an interim deal in June halted large-scale fighting, but both sides have traded strikes over alleged violations.
- On October 1, 2026, the United States was sending a third carrier strike group and a second Marine expeditionary unit to the Middle East. On October 2, U.S. Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz accused Iran of enriching uranium to 60 percent.
The nuclear program is the unresolved core of the dispute, and that is the sense in which a nuclear threat hangs over the region. No nuclear weapon has been used, and 60 percent enrichment is below weapons grade, but it is far above the levels needed for civilian power. The CFR lists the conflict’s status as “worsening.”
Taken at face value, Bledsoe’s prophecy says an intervention would come precisely when this kind of escalation peaked. That is a prediction that cannot be tested until it either happens or does not, and it is worth noting that a war between Iran and Israel was a plausible forecast even in 2013, as Patheos itself observed.
The UFO Over Tehran: Coincidence or Correlation?
On September 20, 2026, a 14-second video showing multicolored lights over Tehran spread across social media. Cybernews reported that one post placed the object near the Azadegan Expressway, while Israel Hayom noted that Iranian authorities made no public comment and that the footage was too poor to identify the object. The clip was shared by the OSINT account OSINTdefender:

A number of videos are circulating showing an unidentified object in the skies above Tehran, Iran, it’s not immediately clear what is being filmed. pic.twitter.com/bHNAQGFPNv
OSINTdefender (@sentdefender) September 21, 2026
Video: report on the strange lights over Tehran from the Oneindia News YouTube channel. The footage is unverified.
The timing drew attention for two reasons. First, the clip appeared as Iranian officials warned of attacks on U.S. bases. Second, it surfaced around the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Tehran UFO incident, when Iranian fighter jets were scrambled to intercept a luminous object and the event was recorded in U.S. government files. Israel Hayom noted that no link between the two events has been established.
For the Bledsoe prophecy, supporters see a pattern: lights over the capital of Iran, in the same weeks as the war escalation, a few days before the date. Our assessment is more cautious. Viewers suggested drones, an LED-lit kite or a military craft, and none of those explanations has been confirmed or ruled out. Nothing in the footage connects to orbs, to the oceans, or to Bledsoe’s message. It is a coincidence of timing in a region that is full of aircraft and drones, not evidence for the prophecy. We would update that view if verified data such as radar tracks or original footage emerged.
The Case for Caution
Prophecies like this one are easy to read into events after the fact and hard to test beforehand. Several cautions apply:
- The date has already moved once. Easter 2026 passed without verified orbs, and the focus shifted to October 7. Bledsoe says the earlier date was never his, but a prophecy whose date can be revised after a miss is difficult to falsify.
- The wording is open to interpretation. “New knowledge” and “turning red at the Sphinx’s gaze” can be matched to many outcomes.
- Bledsoe himself has softened expectations. He has told listeners not to expect a Hollywood-style show, which lowers the bar for what counts as fulfillment.
- The evidence is testimonial. The orbs, the Lady and the canyon are personal accounts. Supporters cite his sincerity and his contacts in the intelligence community; critics ask for physical evidence that can be independently examined.
We take the encounter reports seriously as reports, as we do in our coverage of Jacques Vallée’s research on high strangeness and of orb sightings and official responses. But a report is not a verified event. What counts is what can be measured.
What This Means for Our UFO Disclosure Clock
Our UFO Disclosure Clock measures real progress toward government transparency: congressional hearings, legislation, declassified records and corroborated testimony. It does not move on prophecy, rumor or unverified sightings, so neither the Bledsoe message nor the Tehran video changes the score. If October 7 produces verifiable evidence or an official action, we will log it.
For context on what does move the Clock, see our coverage of the sixth PURSUE release of Pentagon UFO files, the David Grusch profile, and our UAP Disclosure Timeline.
What to Watch on October 7
If you want to evaluate the prophecy for yourself, here is a simple checklist:
- The sky: Check a planetarium app for Regulus in the eastern sky before dawn on October 7. It should be easy to find as a bright star in Leo.
- Verifiable reports: Look for orbs documented by multiple independent witnesses, with original files and timestamps, not reposted clips.
- Official statements: Watch for any action from the Pentagon, Congress, Egypt’s antiquities authorities or other official bodies. Bledsoe’s “hidden chambers” claim would need an announcement from them.
- What Bledsoe reports: He plans to be at Giza. His own account of the day will be the primary source for what he believes happened.
We will update this article after October 7 with what was and was not observed.
What is the Chris Bledsoe October 7 prophecy?
Bledsoe says a divine figure he calls the Lady told him thousands of orbs would rise from the oceans when “Regulus is turning red at the Sphinx’s gaze.” Interpreters tied that to October 7, 2026, roughly 5:30 a.m. at Giza. Bledsoe now emphasizes a spiritual shift and “new knowledge” over a dramatic light show.
Did the Easter 2026 Chris Bledsoe prediction come true?
No verified reports of orbs rising from the oceans emerged on April 5, 2026. Bledsoe has said the Easter date was created by others, and that he had spoken of the fall.
Who is the Lady in Chris Bledsoe’s story?
The Lady is a luminous woman in white whom Bledsoe says appeared to him in several encounters. He calls her the Mother Spirit and sees her as representing the spirit of God. Others interpret her as the divine feminine, and some Catholic commentators compare her to the Virgin Mary.
Does Regulus actually rise at the Sphinx’s gaze on October 7?
By our PyEphem calculation, Regulus rises in the east-northeast around 3:30 a.m. and is due east, about 25 degrees up, by 5:30 a.m. at Giza. It is aligned with the Sphinx’s eastward direction, but not at the horizon. Please verify with Stellarium.
Is the UFO over Tehran connected to Chris Bledsoe’s prophecy?
There is no evidence of a connection. The September 20 Tehran video shows unidentified multicolored lights that viewers attributed to drones, a kite or military craft. The timing overlaps with the Iran war and the prophecy’s themes, but that is a coincidence of timing, not a verified link.
Does the Chris Bledsoe prophecy affect the UFO Disclosure Clock?
No. The Clock moves only on hearings, legislation, declassified documents and corroborated testimony, not on prophecies or unverified sightings.
